GENERAL DESCRIPTION


The FP&A Analyst -Costing and Operations- serves as an integral part of the finance team as well as in its respective location/region. Responsibilities include preparation of regional financial reports, active participation in creation of budget and monthly forecasts related to operating expenses and costs, performing in-depth variance analysis of actual results vs plan, and performing various ad-hoc analysis requested by the organization and the Operations function. This position is a highly visible position with direct interactions with key business leaders and reports to the Global Operations FP&A Manager who works at Corporate offices located in Richmond Virginia.


The FP&A Analyst – Costing and Operations- needs to have high energy with a strong base of finance and business knowledge, good communication and interpersonal skills and a proven track record of success both as a leader and member of a team.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Proactively collaborate with Operations departments to drive accurate forecasting and variance analysis and to assist the Global FP&A Operations Manager in planning for and monitoring departments' costs
  • Partner with operations local leaders from each of the Company to ensure adequate support of their functions. 
  • Proactively collaborate with Operations departments to drive accurate forecasting and variance analysis and to assist FP&A Director in planning for and monitoring departments' costs.
  • Capital expenditures perform analysis and review proposals.
  • Analyze current and past trends in key performance indicators, cost of sales, expenses and capital expenditures. 
  • Monitor performance indicators, highlighting trends and analyzing causes of unexpected variance.
  • Be instrumental during Budgeting, Financial Forecasting and financial reviews supporting the Operations team.
  • Ad-Hoc Reporting and Analysis for Operation Committee. 
  • Quarterly and Monthly Financial reports.
  • Embed in periodic Operation meetings to provide the global FP&A team and assessment on impact of various initiatives. 
SUPPLEMENTAL RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Execute the standard work defined by the Global Operations FP&A Manager.
  • Aid during annual budget setting for Operations and support their requirement as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements



Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in finance or accounting in roles. 
  • Experience using financial reporting tools such as Excel, PowerPoint, Word. 
  • Fluent in English.

  • Strong analytical skills and business/accounting knowledge; excellent skills in Excel, Word and Microsoft Outlook.
  • Self-starter that takes pride in his/her work and takes the initiative.
