Field Service Technician – Ottawa/Montreal Region (Bilingual English - French)
Job Description:
This bilingual position (English and French) provides advanced technical service and high level support on equipment within the company, ISO, FDA, and budgetary guidelines with the objectives of minimizing customer downtime and generating revenue opportunities for Leica.
Key Responsibilities (Including FST I, II, and Senior levels):
•Provide installation support, maintenance, modification and/or repair on various mechanical, electro-mechanical, electronic, and refrigeration instruments.
•Achieve strategic goals and financial targets
•Effectively communicate with internal colleagues and external customers within established time guidelines in order to meet customer’s expectations. This includes both written and verbal communications at a highly effective level.
•Broaden knowledge and experience to improve product, application and professional development skills and ultimately, represent the company in a highly professional manner. Shall also assist with the training and mentoring of other team members to improve overall performance of the team.
•Maintain spare parts stock within budgetary limits in order to maximize customer uptime and field service metrics. Shall also provide feedback to team members and management to improve parts usage and stock levels. Acts as liaison to 2nd Level Support and to the Business Unit (BU) to communicate trends and correct parts issues.
•Control expenses in order to maximize the profit contribution to the company. Shall also assist with regional activity management as needed to maximize efficiency and balance workload.
•Represent the company in a highly professional manner in order to instill confidence within current and prospective customers of Leica products to achieve high customer satisfaction.
•Provide mentoring support to other field support team members. May be cross regional or national support as needed.
•Openly and actively support business initiatives and change within the field service organization. Early adopter of change and supportive of company initiatives.
•Provide escalation support to include leading the activities and coordinating with other internal teams such as 2nd Level Support and the BU. Complete additional assigned projects on time and with little to no supervision.
•Must always demonstrate best practices.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred, Associates Degree minimum (or equivalent)
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Field Service Technician 
  • Preferred 2-3 years of industry experience
  • Language skills – English and French Required
  • Ability to travel an estimated 70% to 95% with frequent overnight travel, often with short notice.  Occasional international travel may be required.
  • Must Possess a valid Driver’s license and meet fleet eligibility requirements
  • Time management and productivity efficiency with service call handling.
  • Professional with strong technical acumen – analytical with the ability to understand complex system operation and troubleshooting.
  • Strong communication skills - uncovering root cause of customer frustration and understanding customer needs.
  • The position has a high-impact contribution to the company’s success by providing industry leading service to our customer base.
  • Proficiency with test equipment used in field service support.
  • Product and associated laboratory process knowledge.
  • Building and nurturing internal and external customer relationships.
  • Visual daily management.

Technicien de Service  - Région Montréal/Ottawa

 Description de l'emploi: Sous supervisons limitée, le Technicien de Service doit fournir un service technique avancé et une assistance de haut niveau sur les équipements de la société, selon les directives ISO, FDA, Sante Canada et budgétaires, dans le but de minimiser les temps d'arrêt des clients et de générer des revenus pour Leica. Le Technicien de Service est responsable de diagnostiquer les problèmes, de réparer l’Equipment et d’effectuer des tests fonctionnels mécaniques et électroniques.  Principales responsabilités (inclus FST I, II, and Sénior):
  • Effectuer le service, le soutien technique, les réparations, diagnostics, ainsi que les mises à jour de divers instruments mécaniques, électroniques et de réfrigérations. 
  • Installer et mettre à jour les logiciels
  • Représenter l'entreprise face au client de manière très professionnelle afin d'instaurer la confiance des produits Leica  et assurer la satisfaction du client quant aux équipements.
  • Communiquer efficacement avec les collègues internes et les clients externes dans les délais prévus afin de répondre aux attentes des clients. Cela inclut les communications écrites et verbales à un niveau très efficace.
  • Soutenir activement la vente de contrats de service pour atteindre les objectifs stratégiques et financiers de la compagnie.
  • Assistez les représentants des ventes et les membres de l'équipe d’applications pour l’installation des équipements. 
  • Tenir à jour les inventaires des pièces de rechange
  • Fournir un soutien hiérarchique comprenant la direction des activités et la coordination avec d'autres équipes internes telles que le support de second niveau et de l’usine de production.

•Preferred 2-3 years of industry experience

Education

Overtime

•Overtime is a requirement for this position and may be required with little or no advanced notice and at the sole discretion of Leica. Instances of the inability to meet this requirement may result in disciplinary action

Exigences:
  • Les candidats titulaires d’un diplôme d’études collégiales (DEC) ou Baccalauréat seront considérés. 
  • Un Minimum de 3 ans d’expérience en tant que technicien de service après-vente
  • Préférence 2-3 ans d'expérience dans l'industrie de la pathologie
  • Compétences linguistiques – doit pouvoir communiquer en anglais et français,        parle et écrit pour interagir avec les clients.
  • Capacité de voyager estimée entre 70% et 95% avec des voyages fréquents d'une nuit, souvent avec un court préavis. Doit pouvoir voyager autant en Amérique qu’à    l’international.
  • Être disponible pour travailler des quarts de travail jour, soir et weekend.
  • Les heures supplémentaires sont une exigence pour ce poste et peuvent être requises avec peu de préavis, voire aucun, et à la seule discrétion de Leica.
  • Posséder un permis de conduire valide
  • Une connaissance pratique des produits Microsoft Office est exigée
  • Doit pouvoir soulever un minimum de 40lbs
