Our Engineering department is looking forward to welcome a


Field Service Engineer/Technician

To strengthen our team we are looking for an independent, enthusiastic and experienced Field Service Engineer/Technician. You will be working both from our office and on-site with our customers throughout Spain & Portugal. In this role you will be responsible for independently performing inspection, testing fault finding and servicing of Pall’s Filtration and Separation Systems.  Will be assigned multiple projects and may be required to assist commissioning engineers to start up new systems. Systems are generally integrated into a complete process system utilising tanks, pumps, drives, automated valves, process + analytical instrumentation interfaced to a PLC based control system with a graphical user interface front end.

We need professional, motivated, friendly, independent, and technically savvy Engineers who does what it takes to take care of our customers and represent our high standards.

In this role you will:

  • Responsible for testing, servicing and commissioning of Pall separation systems including mechanical, electrical and instrumentation. Responsible for troubleshooting PLC and HMI software based on established design.
  • Responsible for implementing and documenting system modifications under the direction of the European Service Manger or Engineering design team.
  • Responsible for the generation and implementation of written service and/or test procedures and risk assessments.
  • Responsible for documenting system modifications and conveying modification details back to Project Engineering, through the correct Change Control procedures.
  • Responsible for training customer personnel in the operation of the Pall System. Must prepare training materials for various Pall Systems Technologies, including the provision of Standard Service Products relating to the specific technology
  • Assignments will involve travel to specified sites (both domestic and international) to perform service activities.  Travel may take place on evenings or weekends as required to meet the customer’s need.  Travel schedules will be arranged as directed by the line manager and will be in accordance with the Pall Technology Services Group Travel Policy.
  • Responsible for maintaining a positive relationship with customer. While performing service, the engineer must make sound technical decisions to meet customer requirements while maintaining Pall’s commercial interests.  Independently resolves adverse situations constructively.
  • Responsible for the timely and accurate completion of Service Reports, Time Tracking, Site Visit Reports, Expense Reports and other business related documents.
  • Responsible for performing all services in compliance with applicable Pall, site and industrial safety practices.
  • Responsible for training Customers’, Pall or Pall Distributor engineers’ in the correct use and maintenance procedures for Pall Industrial service products, including the generation and use of Service Manuals.

Job Requirements


The role requirements:

  •  BTEC, ONC or HNC in Engineering or equivalent work experience / military training.
  • Experience maintaining similar equipment out in the field
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, science or related field is desirable but not essential.
  • Ability to work independently with minimum back-up when necessary.
  • Good knowledge in mechanical, electrical, PLC controls.
  • Cross trained in electrical / instrumentation / mechanical / process disciplines preferred.
  • Ability to integrate into international teams (Pall and customer), including understanding of cultural differences.
  • Excellent written and verbal English is required with strong MS-Office skills.
  • Clean driver’s license required and a valid current passport.
