The Enterprise Architect provides Defines a high-level enterprise-wide architecture focusing on the mapping of IT capabilities to business needs.  The focus is on defining the relationships, flows, and implementation of business, applications, data, and technology in the enterprise and the transitional process necessary for implementing technology in response to changing business needs.  Manages the linkage between strategic planning, performance management, and investment management.

Major Responsibilities 
•Deploy new architecture models that contribute to improved organizational effectiveness.  
•Act as an evangelist in Enterprise Architecture activities.  
•Provide planning and discipline to ensure that investments in process improvement, information, and technology support the organization's strategic goals, enabling quick responses to changes in market conditions and new opportunities.
•Innovates solutions to problems having significant and long-term impact.
•Establishes extensive intradepartmental interactions and initiates interdivisional interactions to develop a network of support both within and outside of IT.  
•Interfaces with business management and Senior IT Enterprise Architect on significant matters, often requiring the coordination of activity across organizational units. 
•Thorough knowledge of the customer's business process and environments.  Knowledge of requirements and regulations affecting the customer.  Strong awareness of the customer's industry.
•Establishes linkage between IT Strategy and the business strategy.  
•Contributes to the introduction of improved processes through tools, training, or technology.  
•Assists Senior Enterprise Architect in developing long-range plans and strategic direction of IT based on the business direction.
•Ensures personnel utilize technology to provide them with a fast, accurate and secure method to access information, in order that global members can be serviced in a highly efficient and effective manner.  
•Ensures support is provided to global internal personnel in a professional, courteous and timely manner.

•Identifies, plans, schedules, prioritizes, organizes, manages and reports on the tasks and resources required to accomplish defined objectives of specific manufacturing, materials, logistics distribution, finance and/or operational projects.
•Plans and organizes global workloads and staff assignments and reviews progress and directs changes as needed.
Financial Management 
•Participates in departmental strategic and budgetary planning processes.
•Monitors revenues and expenditures to assure sound fiscal control.
•Determines feasibility, cost, time required and compatibility with current systems.
Project Management
•Guides and mentors IT team members in the utilization of project management. 
•Gathers, interprets and prepares data for studies, reports and recommendations. 
•Provides the necessary supporting documentation for the appropriate business units to evaluate, prioritize and determine the cost effectiveness of information technology initiatives

Job Requirements



-Minimum of 5 years of experience in worldwide technical, hardware and software project management, administration, guidance and support in the area of enterprise servers, personal computers, printers, system security, redundancy, scalability and maintenance planning required.  


-Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or a related field equivalent required.

-Technical Skills – Knowledge of worldwide information technology hardware and software project management, administration, guidance and support in the area of Enterprise Servers, Personal Computers, printers, system security, redundancy planning, scalability planning, maintenance planning, execution and monitoring, disaster recovery plans and testing, monitoring/identification of trends in usage, traffic, storage, management and monitoring of new system rollouts, end-user administration, updates, deployments and support, Help Desk operations and management and architectures, including software installations, maintenance, issue resolution, migrations, support and upgrades.

-Hardware/Software Knowledge – Data processing methods and procedures, computer software systems, equipment and software characteristics of various computer systems, system features and integration capabilities.  System design and development process including requirements analysis, feasibility studies, software design, programming, pilot testing, installation evaluation and operational management.

-Healthcare Industry Knowledge – Understanding of key business issues that exist in the medical device and healthcare industries, i.e. health care economics and trends, state and local laws, regulatory requirements. Ability to plan, implement and support systems in a complex health care environment. Link and apply complex technologies to business strategies.

-Computer Skills – Proficient computer system based tools including Microsoft Office applications, presentation, e-mail, web browsers and spreadsheet software.


-Must be able to travel up to 20% of the time; both domestic and international travel is required.

-Typical work related travel assignments range 1-2 weeks and as such overnight, out-of-town and/or country stays are required.
