Description

 In close collaboration with the Sales organization this role is responsible for scoping, designing/specifying, deploying and maintaining Leica Epath/Eslide manager system connectivity to Leica and External systems/LIS within the histology environment.

The Digital Pathology Integration specialist works within the EMEA Pathology Solutions team to provide customers with Integration services executing the Interacting Pre Sales and with deployment at customer sites, by interacting with Informatics specialists first and with customer IT and Lab Seniors to deploy the components for complex situations.

The specialist will work closely with the Informatics team and with the customer if needed to finalise and deploy the Leica systems in accordance with specifications agreed prior to any deployment.

The specialists provide training and competence-based training with the Informatics team and the customer in complex situations.

The specialists will provide support and assistance to Informatics team during and after any system goes live with Leica customers.

As a frontline company contact, The Specialist will be responsible for upholding all company policy and compliance regulations and will maintain good communication and working relationships with end users to ensure complete customer satisfaction.


Traveling required, to customer sites, BU’s, congresses. Focus on the supporting a selected region in sales and service activities and data gathering. A minimum of 70% of your time will be spent travelling with some out of routine laboratory hours working required. 


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES


1.     Analyse laboratory workflow and layout to support sales and deployment of Leica IT Integrated Digital Pathology Solutions in a region.

2.     Support laboratory specific IT needs to enhance IT solution, which will best support the customer site and in accordance to any deployed systems contract ad terms across all sales teams (PI, HI, HC and AS)

•          Work in close contact with the individual sales account and Business Development managers to

                                          i.    Run Workshops to educate and train end users

                                         ii.    Develop programs be used by Sales Reps for printer based solutions

•          Utilize sales tools based on the identified needs of individual accounts:

                                          i.    Interfacing of Cerebro with departmental LIMS

                                         ii.    Presentation support to Sales account manager for technical enquiries.

•          Ensure the products are positioned to promote Green and LEAN histology and effectively - create a culture to our customers that LBS sells system solutions, not just instrumentation

3.     Product launches and software updates

•          Work in conjunction with the BU’s, regional marketing and Sales account managers to prepare the launch and rollout of software upgrades.

4.     Other support activities -

•         Working with Global Support to address major, persistent service issues.

•         Assisting with Global Support and local Service Management to ensure all products in field is of recommended Configuration Management.

•         Assisting in product demonstrations for key personnel as per Sales/Marketing requirements and agreed upon by Support Management.

•         Work on other ad hoc local projects

Qualifications

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

-          University qualification in an IT science discipline

-          Strong Commercial, analytical, verbal and written communication skills

-          Knowledge on network configuration and setup such as firewall, setting fixed IP

-          Knowledge on Microsoft SQL 2008/2014 to perform queries and backups

-          Knowledge on Digital Pathology Integration Solutions and Software Installations

-          Knowledge on Windows 2008 server to perform schedule maintenances, performance and optimisation

-          Proven ability to learn in technical areas with limited previous experience

-          Knowledge on script languages (JavaScript/VBScript) to allow automations when needed

-          Proven ability to support IT systems during entire Product Life Cycle

-          Ability to evaluate customer needs and selectively ‘sell’ and support benefits of a particular product

-          Ability to identify product improvements and effectively communicate their benefits to the          development teams

-          Fluency in English – other European language is a plus

-          Successful record of dealing with external parties, such as third party IT vendors

-          Some experience with histology equipment and laboratory processes
