X-Rite is seeking an Electronics Team Lead to join our team.The purpose of this position is to execute day to day tactical functions of the focus factory in the capacity of team lead. This individual will be responsible for driving continuous improvement in safety, quality, delivery, inventory (cost), and productivity for their respective product lines. This position will be based out of X-Rite’s corporate headquarters in Kentwood, Michigan. 

Essential Duties & Responsibilites:
• Be a leader at morning SQDIP meetings in manufacturing cells. 
• Ensure a safe, ergonomic & clean work environment through use of the Danaher Business Systems (DBS) tools; Conduct regular safety & housekeeping audits and ensure appropriate corrective action is taken including follow-up investigations for all safety 
• Plan and execute daily staff scheduling to achieve customer OTD and linear builds. 
• Host/Lead Kaizen events for respective areas
• Problem solve non-technical quality issues that arise in manufacturing cells to reduce downtime 
• Support Kanban and material action plans 
• Encourage continuous improvement for all operational aspects to achieve optimum performance. 
• Implement model cell concept within manufacturing cells 
• Responsible for monitoring cell hour by hour charts and making on-the-fly decisions to support individual needs
• Interface as necessary with cross-functional teams to ensure resolution of operational needs 
• Ensure quality products are produced by improving manufacturing processes through training & education. Perform quality assurance checks (where applicable)
• Execute operator cross-training plan without impacting quality or customer deliveries 
• Ensure area maintains ISO “ready” compliance for all operations, methods, tooling, processes, work instructions, test equipment and training
• Utilize appropriate tracking & measurement systems designated by the company in order to perform functions related to Associate Time Card System, SQDIP board maintenance and applicable countermeasure action & adherence to Company Policies & Procedures.
• Ensure compliance for all Hazcom & OSHA regulations including necessary training
• Other duties as assigned

Job Requirements



Qualifications

• 3 or more years of relevant and progressive operations experience including manufacturing operations. Knowledge of a variety of operational excellence competencies including yet not limited to:  Lean Manufacturing, Toyota Production System Tools: Visual Management, Value Stream Mapping, Standard Work, Policy Deployment, One-piece Flow, 6S, Kaizen, SMED, Kanban, Poke Yoke, Target Costing, Six Sigma and TPM (required)

• Excellent communications (written and verbal) skills 

• Strong interpersonal, leadership, problem-solving and decision making skills

• Ability to assess the needs of the business and implement the best solutions 

• Effective project management and problem solving skills.

• Ability to use clear judgment in areas of decision making

• Effective at driving change and managing teams to achieve desired results
