We are looking for a leader to ensure that SCIEX Service continues to be  ranked #1 in customer satisfaction among mass spec vendors.

The District Service Manager is responsible for the service business within the assigned district and for directing the activity of all field service engineers to achieve the district’s service support objectives and business plan. Serves as owner and point of contact for escalated service activity within the district.  Responsibilities include achieving/exceeding assigned installation, maintenance and repair targets through effective coaching and development of employees, identifying and implementing process improvements and changes to increase the group’s effectiveness and value to its customers, and managing all aspects of direct reports job performance and career development.

Location:  This person can be remotely based in the territory which includes NJ, CT and NYC or Long Island areas.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Plans, directs and coordinates the daily activities of service personnel to achieve service and business objectives
  • Communicates with other department managers to identify potential improvements in the quality of services and/or support provided
  • Ability to defuse challenging internal and external customer/employee situations
  • Identifies service, technical and workflow skill sets assessment and mentoring to their direct reports
  • Develops and tracks performance objectives for all direct reports and effectively addresses and resolves employee issues
  • Demonstrates effective communication skills, either through team interactions or presentations to clearly articulate business objectives strategies
  • Effectively strategizes and drives district business objectives
  • Responsible for meeting/exceeding business objectives (Revenue/Orders/Margin/OP) for the district.
  • Manages district company assets including inventory, company cars, and tools.
  • Establishes a regular cadence of activity reports for the purposes of driving business and proficiency improvements.
  • Responsible for interviewing, hiring, training, goal setting, evaluating performance, salary administration, career development for the district.
  • Responsible to meet/drive all compliance objectives
  • Working knowledge of life science products and workflows.
  • Communicates regularly with sales colleagues to drive business objectives
  • Drives commercialization of SCIEX products

Job Requirements



  • Associate’s degree (A.S./A.A.S) or Bachelor's degree (B.S./B.A.) in Life Sciences, Chemistry, Engineering or equivalent experience
  • Prior experience using and/or servicing mass spectrometry or related scientific instruments
  • Leadership experience managing a project, group and/or teams

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

  • Prior experience using and/or servicing mass spectrometry or related scientific instruments
  • Leadership experience managing a project, group and/or teams
  • Expert communication skills both written and verbal
  • Ability and willingness to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Requires ability to walk, climb, stand, carry materials, stoop, kneel, and bend at waist.
  • Exposed to seasonal weather based on geographic region
  • Exposed to moving parts and electricity that require safety protocols
