Description

  • The Program Director / Sr. Director will be responsible for (1) single point of contact for DoD (2) planning, coordination, tracking, and successful implementation of a multidimensional project that involves medical devices, medical instruments, assay development and development of a data analytics platform (3) ensuring projects meet corporate strategies and goals around on-time delivery, budget, product development processes, quality system and regulatory requirements.

    Responsibilities:

    • Single point of contact for all customer communications – conducts reviews, provides monthly reports and tracks finances
    • Monitor and report regularly on progress of the project to all stakeholders as well as to executive management
    • First point of contact for team members and key decision maker for escalations, deviations and resolving conflict; Implement and manage project changes and interventions to achieve successful project outputs
    • Custodian of the deliverables list for DoD and ensures all deliverables are met within schedule and budget while meeting quality requirements
    • Ensures Core Teams are staffed to meet DoD deliverables
    • Coordinates activities and escalates deviations to functional managers to ensure project deliverables are met
    • Keeps a pulse on activities within each Core Team through the program management team and is able to paint the true picture to senior management
    • Direct line manager for the core team leadership - program management team; Manages workload of the program management team
    • Hires, trains and manages the program management teams

Qualifications

  • Required Knowledge - Skills - and Abilities:

    Education and Experience

    • PhD or Master’s degree in Engineering or Life Sciences or equivalent combination of education and experience to perform at this level is required. MBA is a good-to-have.
    • ≥ 12 years of direct work experience in project management capacity or leading projects of high complexity is required, with experience in all aspects of product development and sustaining projects; planning, execution and product launch. Candidates with a background in medical industry will be preferred
    • Demonstrable track record of (1) managing complex delivering successful global product launches (2) managing and/or architecting complex systems (3) customer management
    • Knowledge of both theoretical and practical aspects of project management is required
    • Proficiency in MS Office applications (Project, Power Point, Visio, Outlook, Excel) is required

    • Fast learner able to quickly become adept at using the Danaher Business System tool set
    • Demonstrable success with direct customer management
    • Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to manage team by influence in a matrix organization.
    • Understands the functions of product development and builds partnerships between functions and cultures to accomplish the goals of the project
    • Superior interpersonal skills with demonstrated competencies in team building, influencing and negotiation, and conflict management.
    • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Comfortable presenting to and communicating with cross-functional groups at multiple levels of corporate structure
    • Proactive, hands-on management style
    • Ability to coach/mentor and train others
    • Strong analytical and problem solving skills, creative in finding innovative solutions to project execution or process problems
    • Demonstrated leadership strengths, adaptable to changes in project scope or direction as appropriate
    • Excellent decision-making skills and comfort in influencing and leading cross-functional groups
    • Should be able to manage team in Solna, Sweden and Sunnyvale, USA. Should be available for conference calls with team in Solna
    • Willing to travel to Baltimore (MD), Washington DC, Bothell (WA) and Solna, Sweden on a regular basis

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Experience in Quality System Regulations (QSR) 21 CFR 820; Design Control: ISO 13485:2003, FDA regulations is preferred
    • PMP (Project Management Professional) certification is a highly preferred
