Position Summary

The Director of Product Management for Immunohistochemistry (IHC) will be responsible for the development, launch and on market life cycle management of our IHC product portfolio. The role manages the IHC product performance & quality requirements, high impact product launches and ongoing product portfolio strategies to differentiate LBS in the marketplace.

The Director of Product Management, IHC, collaborates with the regional selling unit teams to drive revenue performance of the complete BOND IHC portfolio encompassing detection, ancillaries and antibodies together with the manual primary antibody products.

Major Responsibilities

• Provide leadership to the IHC Product Management team to drive high team engagement and performance.  
• Responsibility/accountability for the IHC product revenue globally.
• Drive marketing activities and development of sales tools and trainings to maximize product revenues. Work with the selling units to deliver product training and competitive selling training.
• Develop product portfolio strategies including pricing for each region that accounts for current & future diagnostic trends, competition, market conditions, etc.
• Set the IHC product performance & quality requirements anchored around user needs and LBS brand values.
• Manage products throughout their lifecycle ensuring continuing commercial success of new products and removing old & underperforming products.
• Collaborate with R&D to develop and launch new products according to Product Launch Excellence (PLE) process.
• Collaborate with the selling units and global registrations team to drive an optimal registration strategy for IHC products in all countries.
• Develop the 3 to 5 year strategic road map for the LBS IHC products.
• Remain up to date with relevant markets on prices, competition, opportunities, etc.
• Act as the Voice of Customer/Sales for product enhancements and new product developments.
• Work with marketing communication on messaging of value proposition and positioning of products/solutions to ensure marketing collateral maximises sales outcomes.
• Take ownership of the maintenance and growth of the Antibody OEM business.
• Ad hoc work with Innovations on potential new product opportunities.

Job Requirements


 Experience in Medical Diagnostics Sales and / or Marketing experience
 Sales and/or Technical support management experience preferred
 Innate commercial acumen of the Anatomic Pathology Diagnostics space preferred
 Experience in Biomedical industry, Medical Device or Cancer Diagnostics industry preferred
 Experience in leading technically competent teams.
 MBA level business skills preferred


 Graduate or post-graduate qualifications in business or related discipline.
 Graduate or post-graduate qualifications in science (Medical Science or Biology).

Other Requirements:
 The home office for this role is located in the Newcastle Site.  It is expected that work time excluding travel and occasional home office periods will be spent at the Newcastle site to support the IHC Product Management team.
 This role will also be a member of the Newcastle site leadership team and in this capacity will have a dotted line reporting relationship to the Senior Director, Product Development & Operations, Advanced Staining Reagents.
 Significant international travel (~25%) is expected as part of this role.
