Support the Vice President EHS on the strategic direction of EHS programs and the governance of EHS.  At the direction of the Danaher Vice President EHS, assist the EHS organization in realizing its vision, implement and maintain EHS-related policies, achieve goals and help create long-term business value for the company. Provide reviews and updates on EHS performance, report on progress toward achieving goals and targets, oversee compliance and agency enforcement actions, support policy deployment, assess Opco conformance vs. best practices and requirements of Danaher EHS policy, and assist with implementation as requested.

Build upon and improve Danaher’s global EHS audit program.  Manage all aspects of the Danaher EHS audit program; seek opportunities to continually improve the EHS audit process, standard work, and reports; expand program to include assessment of Danaher EHS policy deployment and EHS programs; establish, collect and report audit program metrics; expand scope of audit program to changing requirements, achieve consistent program execution and improve quality, world-wide.

Improve and expand Danaher’s EHS risk assessment process.  Maintain a risk assessment tool for Opcos and facilities to use in conducting self assessments of EHS risk, conduct semi-annual corporate EHS risk assessment of facilities, maintain facility database, identify facilities with EHS significance, collect facility EHS hazard and performance data, refine risk assessment methodology, conduct annual risk assessment, and report results.

Lead Danaher EHS performance metrics process.  Collect, collate, validate, and report EHS metrics and performance versus goals, as directed by the Vice President EHS; analyze metrics to identify opportunities for improvement amid the key elements to successful EHS management such as regulatory compliance, risk assessment, communication, self-audit, and senior leadership engagement.  Monitor EHS performance, injury and illness data, environmental incidents, inspections, environmental monitoring results.  Lead the annual Danaher EHS awards process.

Support the Danaher Sustainability program.  At the direction of the Danaher Vice President EHS, support the Danaher Sustainability program.  Collect, analyze, and report Sustainability-related EHS metrics and case studies.

Respond to EHS information requests.  Lead the drafting of the EHS portion of the Carbon Disclosure Project reporting and annual Sustainability report.

Support Danaher EHS communications.  Assist the Danaher Vice President EHS in developing formal internal and external communications.

Minimum of a Bachelor of Science degree in engineering or science discipline.  Masters degree and professional certification preferred.


Minimum of ten to fifteen years of total experience, including work in manufacturing operations, EHS auditing, and EHS management; international experience preferred.


Knowledge of US federal and state regulations pertaining to occupational safety and health and the environment; knowledge and understanding of regulatory systems outside the US; experience with auditing and compliance outside the US; experience in corporate-level program development and project management; must be self-motivated, well organized, have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, at all levels of the organization and with external contacts; must be proficient with word processing, spreadsheet and presentation software, and internet and email tools.
