• Applies knowledge and experience in instrument theory of operation and analytes (reaction scheme, performance claims, clinical utility and customer expectations) to achieve work objectives.
• Perform root cause investigations into systematic instrument and assay issues.
• Perform system characterization, verification and validation testing.
• Employ the DBS continuous improvement tools to enhance current processes.

New Product (System) Development
• Partner with Assay Development to influence design of new assays to maximize probability of success in instrument /system  integration
• Partner with engineers to characterize designs and, if necessary, design countermeasures to obtain the desired performance (“Integration”)
• Assist engineers in assessing whether designs meet specifications and, if necessary, design countermeasures to meet them (Verification)
• As a working system, confirm that the design meets user needs (Validation)

Systems Integration Deliverables
• System Performance Characterizations/Optimization
• V/V Plans, Protocols & Reports
• APF Daily Management, Guidelines & APF Reviews
• Problem Solving/Root Cause Determination (System-based Performance Issues)
• Risk Assessments
• Develop & Maintain Development Apps (QMIT.xls, APF Edit, Macros, etc.)
• ARP/PRP’s on CAPA’s
• Design Change Plans
• Workbook Maintenance
• Collaborate with Support on Docs, Mods, etc.

Job Requirements


• M.S. with 0-2 years’ experience, or a B.S. degree with 2+ years’ experience in biochemistry, immunoassay or related field, and demonstrated oral and written communication skills with the ability to work in a multidisciplinary team environment.
• Demonstrated experience of working in a GMP environment, under ISO 13485, FDA QSR and CLSI guidelines.
• Experience in assay development and/or automated instrumentation.
• Demonstrated critical thinking and ability to problem solve.
• Ability to build lasting relationships between teams which include assay development, manufacturing, quality and regulatory.
• Comfortable reaching out to other departments (SCM, QA, RA, QC, RO, hardware and software development) for guidance and assistance.
• Taking initiative and leading where necessary when working cross-functionally.
• Understanding and advocate of DBS tools and processes.
• Ability to perform work independently and in a team.
• Guiding the successful completion of initiatives, processes and/or projects for the department taking on a project leadership role as necessary.
