Description

A Design Engineer leads the design, development, and qualification of new products as part of a cross-functional team overseen by senior engineering leaders.  This includes performing engineering calculations to accurately predict product performance, and creating a design on schedule and within cost goals.
  • Design product to conform to customer specifications and requirements using CAD 3D/2D software, dimensional tolerance analysis, fluid flow calculations, and basic stress calculations. (50%)
  • Create manufacturing drawings and engineering documentation for the production of new products. (25%)
  • Maintain established project schedules through the design cycle and manage all project design functions through qualification. (10%)
  • Work with Pall applications engineers and customers to define the design requirements for aircraft components for future programs. (10%)
  • Specify PAC manufacturing and process specifications to control manufacturing processes. (5%)

Job Requirements



Qualifications

  • BSME
  • 0-3 years of experience in new product design.
  • Experienced in spreadsheet analysis, report writing, and 3-D solid modeling software applications.
  • Familiar with engineering software including Mathcad (desired).
  • Basic knowledge in the areas of stress analysis and fluid dynamics.
  • Familiar with ISO 9000 engineering design requirements
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills
  • Team player with customer focus
  • Ability to multitask and problem solve
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Solid Modeling and 2-D Drafting skills
  • Good working knowledge of the design process
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Great communication skills and teamwork is expected of the design engineer to effectively coordinate efforts across the cross-functional team.
