Description

Position Summary 
Quantitative rigor in commercial execution across all Operating Companies is one of the hallmarks of Danaher, and a cornerstone of the celebrated Danaher Business System (DBS). The Customer and Sales Data Analyst will further advance commercial quantitative rigor at Leica Biosystems by:
  • Understanding the customer buying journey across the different product verticals and identifying and testing 'metrics that matter' as leading predictors of commercial success and outcomes
  • Combining data across different sources (e.g., CRM data and actual sales data) to develop new insights
  • Working with the commercial organization to pressure test new insights and data sources 
  • Obtaining buy-in from the commercial organization and driving change/execution based on new insights
Reporting into the Growth organization, the successful candidate will have a strong background in modeling and commercial analytics and a very strong orientation towards using data and new insights to drive action.  

Specific role responsibilities are, 
  • Modeling and Commercial Analytics: 
  • Combine data from different sources to create new insights, such as:
  • Linkage between quoting behavior and price realization
  • Sales achievement as a function of funnel size and stage
  • Consumable opportunity wins and new customer revenue
  • Market share at the sales region level
  • Extract data from our CRM environment (Salesforce.com) to provide meaningful insights regarding sales performance, such as:
  • Sales Funnel Analysis - Adequacy, opportunity velocity, success, aging
  • Quoting behavior - Number of quotes, discounting behavior
  • Win-loss analysis
  • Drive analytic approaches to identify sales prospects:
  • Analyze instrument install base and identify opportunities for consumable attachment
  • Work with market visibility team to identify new AP/Derm labs and opportunities for selling to these
  • Develop model for order entry operations
  • Conduct interviews and analyze data to develop a model of order entry operations efficiency
  • Identify leading metrics for order entry speed and accuracy
  • Driving action based on new insights:
  • Obtain buy-in from broader sales organization for the adoption of new KPIs
  • Develop and sustain sales performance scorecards based on new insights gleaned through additional analysis
  • Weekly CRM-based reports highlighting key sales performance metrics
  • Monthly bowlers for sales funnel reviews and growth rooms

Qualifications

Required Education, Experience, Skills

Education:  

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or the sciences is required
  • Experience/Skills:
  • 3+ years of experience in healthcare data analytics roles
  • 5+ years of experience in Sales/Marketing Analytics and/or Sales Operations

Skills:

  • Strong database query skills are required (specifically, MS Excel, MS Access or SQL)
  • Proficiency in building models and dashboards in MS Excel is required (Use of Pivot Tables and advanced formulas such as V/Hlookup, Index, Match, Advanced Filters as well as ability to write excel macros)
  • Expertise in building SalesForce.com reports
  • Familiarity with ERP systems reporting (e.g., SAP) is a major plus
