Credit & Collections Manager
Organizational Context and Environment:
Beckman Coulter, Inc. has an exciting leadership opportunity to develop and transform a customer focused accounts receivable team.  Credit & Collections Manager reports to Corporate Assistant Treasurer in Finance overseeing Cash Management organization.
The Accounts Receivable team is based in Brea, CA and specializes in both extending and evaluating customer credits and working on account collections. The 30 person team works closely with Beckman Coulter’s customers, client services and sales team to take a collaborative, positive approach towards payment resolution.  Credit & Collections Manager will be leading approximately 6 to 8 dedicated account collections resources. The right candidate must have a proven track record of strong leadership and demonstrated ability to lead and coach individuals from diverse backgrounds and skill sets. The successful manager is one who is comfortable leading the team in adoption and usage of data driven problem-solving strategies and standard work with the goal to sustain improvement in days sales outstanding (DSO). This opportunity is ideal for someone who has strong leadership skills, strong people skills, strong problem-solving skills and is excited to be a part of leading a team to sustained improvement in this key component of working capital.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
  • Implement strategies and improvements that lead to timely collection of North America Accounts Receivable (Approximately $250M). 
  • Manage team of 6 – 8 accounts receivable associates in day to day standard work, staff development and improvement activities.
  • Lead daily management and process improvement events to achieve and sustain departmental goals while constantly looking to improve these goals.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with business partners to ensure the accounts receivable team is equipped with relevant information and support to execute on their goals.

Job Requirements


Required Experience and Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree with 9+ years of experience, with minimum 5 years dedicated experience in credit & collections
  • Prior proven people leadership experience in a complex organization
  • Advanced Excel and data management skills
  • Proven experience using data driven problem-solving techniques
  • Successfully led cross-functional projects
  • Experience using financial reports and other external resources to inform collection activities
  • Knowledge of accounting principles and practices
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
