Seeking a motivated, self-starter who is ready to roll-up their sleeves to analyze results, troubleshoot problems, and identify areas of improvement opportunities for Operations team. The Cost Accounting Manager, Operations will partner with the Director of Operations to create key metrics that will help continue the path to productivity and efficiency improvements.  In addition, the Finance Manager, Operations will provide risk mitigation processes for the Operations team.

  • Maintain and update standard cost modules 
  • Ensure timely process of product cost roll-up
  • Provide analysis and reporting for Purchase Price Variance (PPV), VAVE, labor productivity and manufacturing variances
  • Perform capital spend plans and capital appropriation request process (CAR)
  • Lead budgeting and forecasting process for Operations
  • Work closely with Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A), manufacturing and operations to resolve issues on cost and inventory
  • Compile product costs including direct labor, raw materials, and overhead on a semi-annual basis and sign off on final costing
  • Drive department spending accountability for the Operations team in North America
  • Coordinate physical inventory process
  • Calculate spend and ROI for capital purchases within the businesses. Perform financial analysis on new business opportunities (ROI analysis)
  • Perform variance analysis in Manufacturing against weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual forecasts.
  • Ensure accurate and timely process of product cost roll-up and annual standard cost roll.
  • Perform trending, variance and ad hoc financial analysis as required.
  • Assist in special projects as necessary.
  • Motivate, mentor and manage senior cost accountant.
  • Timely utilization of all people management systems such as Workday.

Job Requirements




  • B.S. degree required, preferably in Accounting/Finance: MBA preferred.


  • 5 years of accounting experience required.
  • 2-3 years in manufacturing facility required, prior experience as a senior cost accountant or cost analyst role preferred.
  • Supervisory experience preferred. 
  • 2+ years’ experience using ERP systems (Oracle, Syteline, SAP) required. Experience using financial reporting software (i.e. Hyperion) preferred.


    • Experience working for a large public accounting firm is preferred.
    • Technical acumen, creative thinking, problem-solving and analytical skills.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
    • Demonstrated leadership as part of a cross-functional management team.
    • Strong organizational and time management skills in a fast-paced environment.
    • Advanced computer skills with MS software (Excel, Word, and Outlook).
