The qualified individual will be responsible for performing a variety of different scales of oligonucleotide purifications to support assay development teams and commercialization efforts. The ideal candidate will be hardworking, efficient, flexible, and able to perform key responsibilities in a fast-paced, team environment.

  • Assist with and often responsible for maintaining the efficient operation of the laboratory.
  • Conduct HPLC purification of oligonucleotides within well-defined guidelines.
  • Assist scientists with necessary work flow tasks.
  • Operate laboratory equipment; contribute to laboratory maintenance.
  • Collect and organize research data. Document experiments, results and findings in laboratory notebook.
  • Provide input on experimental design and suggest modifications in protocols or experimental methods to meet the needs of a particular oligo design or molecule.
  • Prepare stock of chemical solutions used in the lab.
  • Maintain instruments, troubleshoot instrumental/experimentalproblems, and stock up the laboratory with disposable supplies.
  • Keep abreast of current publications relative to methods, techniques, and developments within area of research.

Job Requirements


  • B.S. in Chemistry or Biochemistry or similar science
  • One year of laboratory experience
  • Must be proficient  in basic organic chemistry laboratory techniques
  • Must be proficient in operation of automated and manual HPLC (SEC, IEX, affinity), spectroscopy (UV, Fluorescence) and LC/MS instruments as well as interpret data
  • Conduct literature searches and keep up with to date on relevant science
  • Operate safely in a laboratory environment
  • Dispose of wastes by the appropriate procedures
  • Must be capable of multi-tasking, working both independently and within a team
  • Must have strong initiative and drive to complete challenging tasks and learn new technologies
