Responsible for directing, managing and coordinating material requirements on a global basis in support of business objectives and operations

strategy. Responsibilities include all operational aspects of assigned product lines: forecasting, supplier purchase terms and delivery schedules,

capacity planning, performance measurement, inventory management and control, product obsolescence, and support of new product


  • Plan inventory to support global market demands for new product introductions.
  • Monitor supplier performance in on–time delivery, quality, and response time performance, determine corrective actions (as needed), and follow up to ensure maximum supplier performance.
  • Locate suppliers, participate in and/or lead supplier evaluation/audit activity and recommend supplier(s) of choice that best support purchasing strategic goals with consolidated supplier base.
  • Interpret data from demand forecasts and execute plan to support fill rate goal.
  • Performs a wide variety of administrative duties in the field of forecast and inventory planning, inventory replenishment, purchasing and supplier management.
  • Utilize system and expertise to maximum inventory productivity i.e. minimize product obsolescence and overall inventory investment required to maintain order fill rate.
  • Manages purchasing relationship with designed contract suppliers. Specific tasks include execution of purchase orders, negotiation of product cost and delivery schedules, capacity tracking and management, performance measurement and feedback, raw material management and plant visit as required.
  • Initiates bids for new products analyze price quotations, price break levels, volume discounts to facilitate best-cost management
  • practices.
  • Attend new product team meetings that correspond to product line responsibilities.
  • Identify potential supplier and material requirements to support new product launch.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshop’s reviewing professional publications, establishing personal network, benchmarking state-of-the-art practices, participating in professional societies.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results; keeping business information confidential; administering the system security; ensuring data accuracy and integrity; maintaining updated professional and technical knowledge; assuring systems
  • compliance with laws, regulations, and corporate standards; ensuring a safe and healthy environment.
  • Complies with QRS, ISO and all applicable regulations and company procedures.
  • Acknowledge and maintain commitment with the environmental policy, and participate actively in the environmental programs to achieve the objectives and targets with their area.
  • Participate in the development of environmental improvement projects, which imply the minimization, all possible negative environmental impacts of daily operations and activities.

Job Requirements


Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor Degree
  • Three (3) of years of materials (inventory) planning and purchasing experience
  • 1 year of SAP experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Masters Degree
  • Five (5) of years of of materials (inventory) planning and purchasing experience

Position Competencies:

  • Knowledge of forecasting, inventory planning, purchasing, and manufacturing outsourcing practices.
  • Familiar with medical manufacturing & processing methods as well as FDA and ISO quality procedures.
  • Experience with forecast and inventory planning software packages as well as PC applications (i.e. Windows, Excel, and Word) is
  • required.
  • Good oral and written communication skills (English and Spanish).
  • Frequent use and application of technical standards, principles, theories, concepts and techniques.
  • Provide solution to a variety of technical problems of moderate scope and complexity.
  • Contributes to the completion of milestones associated with specific projects. Failure to achieve results or erroneous decisions or
  • recommendations may cause delays in program schedules and may result in the allocation of additional resources.
  • Primarily internal company contacts. Infrequent inter-organizational and outside customer contacts on routine matters.
