Description

Responsibilities:

  • Provide a resource of high-level technical consulting ability
    related to industrial applications

  • Collect and develop information in the form of sales tools (value
    sell documents, application notes, quick reference sale notes, etc.). 

  • Present technical training at seminars, trade shows and other
    relevant industry events.

  • Develop test plans and conduct and/or
    coordinate tests to determine the performance of XOS products as it relates to
    a) the products’ end-use applications, b) comparisons to alternative / competitive
    techniques.  This includes; collect or
    generate standards and samples, hands-on conduct tests and / or coordinate
    internal or external testing, and determine sample preparation procedures and
    measurement protocols.

  • Compile results of these tests and generate
    application notes, provide technical support for generation of product
    literature and where appropriate issue and present scientific papers. 

  • Establish
    and maintain appropriate interfaces with Product Engineering, Product Support,
    and other functional areas

  • Work with Sales and Marketing to
    provide technical and sales assistance to assigned Key Accounts

  • Perform application and product training and associated
    application technical support activities for customers, distributors,
    representatives, and direct/inside sales teams.

  • Respond
    to all types of customer technical inquiries in the application of the
    product(s)

  • Attend
    class room training programs when required

  • Attend
    sales conferences and trade shows as needed

  • Assist
    with technical input in the development of new products

  • Provide
    technical services to clients relating to use, operation, and maintenance of
    products

  • Assist
    product, sales and marketing staff on project work

Required Skills/Experience:


  • Strong understanding of various major
    analytical techniques such as ICP-MS and OES, AA, GC, XRF, and UVF.

  • Statistical evaluation skills.

  • Must exhibit the willingness and ability to
    assimilate technical information quickly.



  • Strong
    project management, organizational and analytical skills required. Demonstrated
    ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Strong
    PC skills. Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel and Powerpoint.

  • Detail
    oriented and strong team player with excellent interpersonal, listening,
    writing and oral communications skills required.


Desired Skills/Experience: 

  • 2-3 years of hands-on analytical instruments
    laboratory or related applications engineering experience. 

  • Some knowledge of x-ray
    analytical techniques, and the electronics and/or Petroleum testing markets.

  • Proven ability to speak in
    front of large groups.


Education:


  • BA or BS degree in Analytical Chemistry,
    Physics,  Environment Sciences or
    equivalent is required

Travel
Requirements

  • Up to 30%

  • Valid Passport and Driver’s License
    required
