The Applications Scientist/Customer Experience Specialist is responsible for designing and creating highly specialized scientific education programs for our LC-MS systems.  This includes properly evaluating the scientific accuracy and leading the direction of the development of our customer facing content.  This content will be Customer facing eLearning, How To Videos, digital training course materials, Instructor-led course materials, methods and exercises.  The Applications Scientist/Customer Experience Specialist will work with various cross-functional teams in our Framingham, MA location.  This position will ensure that all content is designed using the latest methods to improve customer learning retention as well as improve customer experience.  

  • Ensure scientific accuracy through testing protocols on all SCIEX LC-MS systems.
  • Research the latest scientific literature to ensure we are using the most effective education tools and methods for LC-MS
  • Work directly with other Applications Scientists and Service subject matter experts to determine the critical scientific info customers need to learn to successfully run advanced applications.
  • Build new digital content to educate our customers.  Focus on eLearning (SCORM) and How to Video design and creation.  This will include voice-over and voice narration.
  • Assist with the administration of our customer facing Global Learning Management System (LMS).
  • Track content through all stages of review and ensure compliance with document release process.

Job Requirements


  • A B.S. in Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry or related life science degree with a minimum of 3 years of experience in Mass Spectrometry.  
  • SCIEX LC-MS systems experience highly preferred.  
  • Significant experience with troubleshooting and testing LC-MS methods
  • Experience training users of analytical instruments
  • Some experience build training materials
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new software and systems 
  • Ability to speak English clearly for voice narration
  • Highly motivated and passionate about building best-in-class training programs. 
  • Ability to gain report with new teams quickly and maintain a positive influence over the group
  • Ability to handle multiple projects at one time and keep on timelines

Additional Requirements: 
Prefer experience in the following.  If no experience then a strong desire to learn will be required for on the job training:
  • Latest eLearning authoring tools including but not limited to:  Articulate 360 (Storyline, Articulate 13) and   Captivate 
  • Knowledge of the latest research in Learning and Development
  • Video production and video editing.
  • Learning Management Systems (LMS)
