Description

We are currently seeking a Application Engineer to come join our team

Position Objective: 

An opportunity has now become available for an experienced Application Engineer to join the team at our new Saudi site.

This position will support the Energy Market. Application engineer will support sales before to secure the order and after order will support on critical issues to OPS team.

Support Sales primarily for ARABIA+ zone to win orders and achieve "AOP-ORDERS" targets with technical knowledge / expertise on mechanical aspects for new filter housing enquiries, retrofitting competition filters and simple skids

 

In this role you will be responsible for:

Sales Support before orders;

  • Reading Tender spec / preparing RFQ for fabricators / defining scope, BOQ, battery limits / TQ responses, Table of compliance, vendor cost evaluation
  • Cost compilation and working closely with sourcing team
  • Supporting sales in presentation and preparation of costing in agreed time frame for agreed scope
  • Materials general characteristics: Carbon, low alloy, Austenitic, Duplex, and Ni alloys steel, polymers, lining Material standards, and product forms.
  • ASME VIII div 1 & 2 requirements and their interpretation
  • Knowledge on, Customer standards such ARAMCO SAMSS/SAES, SHELL DEP, DGS etc. are preferred
  • Review, understanding and interpretation of customer specifications in the oil & gas and power generation industries.
  • General Understanding of welding processes, heat treatment, and destructive testing.
  • Manufacturing processes of pressure vessels and support structures.
  • First principal pressure & stress calculations and compilation in technical reports.
  • System engineering knowledge such as skids/valves specification & cost compilation
  • Retrofit / replacement proposals, feasibility analysis
  • Check and review customer commercial contract such as liabilities and guarantees
  • Initiate the risk assessment & FMEA for special equipment,
  • Coordinate with sales to define the cash flow, Terms and conditions.
  • Writing the scope/design part in Technical proposal
  • Provide technical clarifications to customers and participate in meetings with customer

Sales Support After Order;

  • Order Review, Technical compliance (checklists), order acknowledgement, coordination with Inside sales & OPS team
  • Initiate and follow up different steps of the order (Logistics, documentation, quality, export license etc.)
  • Post award engineering queries
  • Handling customer complaint related to mechanical issues and coordinating with inter disciplines.

General Duties;

  • Provide technical and commercial support to Pall Sales Engineers and to act as the intermediary with engineering, laboratory, plants, Sales Administration, the end users, customers and distributors.
  • Initiate customer request related to non-conformity
  • Other assigned duties related to the function

Job Requirements



Qualifications

The successful candidate will have:

  • Mechanical engineer is preferred / Chemical or Process engineer with static equipment / pressure vessel knowledge will also be considered.
  • Relevant industrial proposal & Applications or Estimation experience
  • Microsoft Office (word, excel, power point).
  • Pressure vessel / capital Static equipment design knowledge is required.
  • ASME & Pressure vessel codes, design
  • Cost Estimation, pressure vessel fabrication awareness is preferred
  • AUTOCAD / equivalent drawing-modelling software knowledge is a “plus”.
  • PV Elite designing is preferred
  • Knowledge of SAP software is a plus
  • Any additional knowledge on process simulation (such as HYSYS), process engineering calculations are beneficial
  • General awareness and knowledge on upstream / downstream O&G, refinery processes is preferred
  • Fluent in English & Arabic is mandatory
  • Fluency in French is optional
