Description

JOB SUMMARY: Provide support to the Accounts Receivable/ Accounts Payable Manager & Accounting Manager for Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable department functions. Specific responsibilities include limited supervision following standardized processes and practices while leading, guiding and coordinating with other team members. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
  • Oversee the AR team’s daily functions and offer assistance when needed.
  • Assist and lead projects with AR Manager and Controller.
  • Participate in month-end activities which include the preparation of journal entries, account reconciliations, and audits for both AR and AP and other tasks as assigned. 
  • Backup to cash application from various forms of payment including: ACH, PayPal, e-check, check, wire payment and credit card.
  • Resolve customer inquiries and provide invoices and account balance information.
  • Review and approve customer account adjustments (i.e. debit/credit memos, account write-offs, etc.,) within approved authority level.
  • Enter discount codes and tax certifications in our sales tax system Avalera.
  • Review and send for approval payment plans.
  • Assist management with SOX compliance tasks, as needed.
  • Maintain financial security by following internal controls.

REQUIREMENTS:
  • Associates Degree and five (5) years' experience experience in accounting, accounts receivable, and/or collections, including reconciliations and month-end processes or 
  • Bachelors Degree and three (3) years' experience in accounting, accounts receivable, and/or collections, including reconciliations and month-end processes
  • Two (2) years lead or supervisory experience
  • Ability to write reports and business correspondence in English
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite with intermediate Excel skills, including lookup functions and pivot table
  • Strong communication, problem solving and analytical skills
  • Attention to detail with an eye for accuracy
  • Ability to compute basic math calculations using addition, subtraction, multiplication, division and percentages
  • Excellent written, verbal, active listening and phone communication skills

PREFERRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:
  • The ideal candidate for this position will have a minimum of 2 years of experience interacting with a large customer base
  • Ability to work independently and to adapt to a fast changing environment.
  • Creative, self-disciplined and capable of identifying and completing critical tasks independently and with a sense of urgency
  • Experience working in a multi system environment
